The Role:
As a Credit Manager, you'll play a crucial role in assessing Corporate & Business credit applications under your personal delegated lending authority (DLA). You'll work in line with service level standards, supporting Customer Experience (CX) and Satisfaction (CSAT). Here's a glimpse of your responsibilities:
- Accept responsibility for a high level of Delegated Lending Authority.
- Make credit decisions for complex bilateral and syndicated lending applications within your DLA.
- Oversee local adaptation and implementation of Group-sponsored and Bank UK-driven initiatives.
- Identify key portfolio issues requiring further investigation using risk asset portfolio data.
- Review applications for business, financial, and structural risks, including consideration of ESG matters and Geopolitical, Security, and Energy (GSE) risks.
- Analyse and assess sustainability-led credit applications, supporting customers with their transition strategies and projects.
- Provide advice to staff within the Credit Team and across the Bank on credit and lending issues.
- Provide input and challenge to propositions, balancing credit risk management with a focus on positive customer outcomes.
- Identify improvement opportunities, develop and implement change management initiatives to maximise efficiency and minimise risk.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and voluntary code obligations, as well as Bank standards, policies, processes, and procedures.
- Identify training needs, develop material, and facilitate the delivery of specific training to colleagues and 1st line relationship managers.
- Provide coaching and development to direct reports on financial, technical, commercial, and other issues.
- Deputise for the Senior Manager C&B Credit Assessment and/or co-present cases with the Head of C&B Credit UK in forums with Group Credit Copenhagen.
- Manage customers experiencing financial difficulty within the C&B Special Credits unit, formulating action plans to support business turnaround and improve the Bank's risk position.
The Person:
- Over 5 years of experience in a related role, preferably with a business degree or equivalent qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, MBA, Institute of Bankers).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in a credit decision forum/risk committee setting
- Proven experience in building successful working relationships with various stakeholders.
- Well-developed influencing skills, with the ability to present analysis supporting findings and recommendations.
- Extensive general product knowledge of core lending facilities and ancillary lines.
