Design Manager - Construction

Location: West Midlands
Salary: £65,000 - £72,000 plus car allowance & benefits
The Opportunity
Due to a number of recent new project awards, an established main contractor with an excellent reputation in the industry, is looking to appoint a Design Manager for their construction division. Their success has seen a significant increase in turnover which is expected to peak at £150m this year. In addition to this, much of their work is negotiated as they work with a handful of loyal clients on a repeat basis.
The successful Design Manager will work on projects ranging from £5m - £40m and the role will be a mix of office and site based work, where you will be involved in preconstruction and construction phases of projects.
Key requirements for the Design Manager role:
- Main contractor background within Design Management.
- Ideal backgrounds - site management/engineering, cladding/curtail wall, civil structural or architectural.
- Exposure to a range of construction projects (commercial/offices, industrial, residential etc.).
- Educated to a high standard in a relevant subject (Degree / HNC/D)
- Driving licence is essential.
