CURRICULUM LEADER: Mathematics

L9/L10 (£57,482 - £58,959)

Join a leading school which prides itself on the high quality of education, enrichment and care provided to all and is committed to the wellbeing of students and staff.

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, strategic and inspirational Curriculum Leader of Mathematics who is committed to the highest standards of learning, teaching and achievement. This is an exciting opportunity to progress your career in a school judged by Ofsted as ‘outstanding’, leading the Mathematics Team to play a critical role in driving and sustaining improvements.

The successful candidate will join and lead a dedicated team of specialists in a department where academic standards and levels of student attainment are high. With a proven track record of improving achievement, you will possess the leadership and management skills to lead and implement change, inspire outstanding learning and progress, alongside the ambition, knowledge and determination to ensure that every student enjoys an exceptional mathematics education.  Flexible working may be available for an exceptional candidate.

This is a significant middle leadership role, part of the school’s Extended Leadership Team, and is an ideal opportunity for someone interested in developing their leadership potential in readiness for Senior Leadership in the near future. As Curriculum Leader, you will lead on all aspects of mathematics teaching and will be accountable for the progress and attainment of all students within the subject area and across the key stages. We will expect you to continue to develop a relevant, engaging and well-sequenced curriculum, to bring fresh ideas and have an unswerving commitment to further drive up standards.  You will lead on initiatives within mathematics and will become a key player in supporting our vision to go beyond outstanding.

We are a fantastic learning community, set in one of Yorkshire’s most scenic areas, whose facilities have recently been enhanced by the completion of a multi-million-pound refurbishment and expansion project. Our graded Ofsted inspection of March 2017 confirmed us as an ‘Outstanding’ school in all areas, where students “attain highly and make excellent progress”, where behaviour is “exemplary” and where “teachers go the extra mile to make sure students achieve, feel cared for and thrive within a supportive and productive learning environment”. Since Ofsted’s highly positive endorsement, the school has continued to go from strength to strength with overall student progress significantly above average at +.6 in 2022 and +.4 in 2023.
