Job Opportunity: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant in Ellesmere Port
Location: Ellesmere Port, Cheshire
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Until Easter (with potential extension)
Are you passionate about making a difference in a child's education journey? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant in Ellesmere Port. This rewarding role involves working closely with a Year 6 student who experiences selective mutism.
About the Role: As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting a student with selective mutism, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. This position is full-time, Monday to Friday, with school hours from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. The initial contract will run until Easter, with the intention to extend beyond this period.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored support to the student, addressing their unique needs.
* Foster effective communication strategies to encourage the student's participation.
* Collaborate with the class teacher and other support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
* Implement and adapt learning resources to cater to the student's learning style.
* Monitor and assess the student's progress, reporting findings to the SENCO.
What We're Looking For:
* Previous experience as a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant is desirable.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Understanding of selective mutism and strategies to support communication.
* Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping children reach their full potential.
* Ability to work collaboratively with the school staff and parents.
