AFFOA is seeking an organized and detail-oriented, Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate for this position is a team player with strong analytical skills, curiosity, and an exceptional work ethic. The person working in this role will accomplish a variety of tasks, and will have excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly using Excel. This is a part-time position with a flexible, hybrid schedule working between 24 to 28 hours per week.

• Enters AP vouchers into the accounting system
• Responds to external vendors and internal managers regarding all aspects of the accounts payable process
• Inspects invoices including cleared payment inquiries and check voiding to maintain accurate files and records
• Reviews automatic payments to ensure correct coding and authorization as well as sufficient contracts and documentation
• Maintains paperless filing system for financial information, records and documents
• Assists in other cyclical processes as needed for accounting department
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is preferred
• 1 to 2 years of experience in similar role
• Strong knowledge and experience using Microsoft Excel is required
• Functional understanding of accounting principles
• Strong logic, and analytical skills
• Strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail
• Effective communication skills both verbal and written and the ability to interact at all levels of the organization

Work Authorization : To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, including the International Traffic In Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be one of the following: a U.S. citizen, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
