Our client based in Kidderminster are seeking a motivated and experienced CAD/CAM Programmer with a strong background in sheet metal manufacturing to join their dedicated team

The CAD/CAM Programmer will play a vital role in translating customer designs into technical drawings and programming instructions to drive the clients manufacturing processes. The candidate will need to bring a high degree of enthusiasm and willingness to support all functions of the business.

The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team . The Candidate will be keen, highly motivated and willing to offer help and advice to both customers and staff members alike.

Responsibilities:

• Read, interpret, and modify a range of 2D and 3D drawing files.
• Collaborate with the team to interpret customer designs and create accurate technical drawings and programs for manufacturing.
• Demonstrate a high level of quality awareness to ensure that all parts leaving the factory meet the company’s strict quality standards.
• Contribute to problem-solving efforts independently and as a part of a team, ensuring efficient production processes.
• Possess a deep understanding of sheet metal processes, including laser cutting, bending, and welding.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth coordination of projects.
• Manage large workloads and adhere to tight production schedules while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
• Collaborate with various software packages, including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Amada (Production Designer, Bendcam, BlankCAM), Bystronic (BysoftCAM and Bysoft CAD), Lantek (3dtube), and Robot Manager.
• Demonstrate proficiency in SolidWorks and experience with amid and Bystronic software packages.
• Possess knowledge of press brake operations to optimize bending processes.

Qualifications and Qualities:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing or sheet metal industry.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and experience with amid and Bystronic software packages is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with press brake operations and sheet metal processes, including laser cutting, bending, and welding.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Outstanding time management skills and the ability to effectively manage and prioritize large workloads.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
