Job description
To coordinate the patient pathway between a number of departments/specialties and external Trusts to avoid cancer wait time breaches. To act as the link between the patients, oncology wards, consultants, planning department, chemotherapy outpatients, treatment machines and medical records in coordinating the treatment pathway for each patient referred for radiotherapy. To prioritize and allocate appropriate appointment slots for each stage of the treatment process, liaising with relevant staff as necessary. To proficiently and efficiently utilise a variety of electronic systems, with competent IT skills and knowledge. To maintain awareness of service delivery developments and contribute to the implementation of change within the service, and participate and identify areas requiring improvement.
