Job description

Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Day Centre Manager for our client a government organisation based in Gloucestershire.

The successful candidate will manage the day centre resources to optimum effectiveness to deliver the service to clients to agreed standards. oversee the day to day running of the centres and ensure that you keep the service manager informed of key issues.

This is a 6 month starting contract with the possibility for extensions.

Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:

Ensure staff are appropriately trained and staffing rotas are completed.

Flexible and adaptable in supporting the needs of other Learning Disability Services.

Ensure person-centred plans and annual reviews are carried out.

Ensure Health and Safety procedures and risk assessments are carried out.

Fully understand and implement procedures under the Safeguarding Adults Policy and that all staff fully understand their role in this procedure.

Ensure confidentiality issues are adhered to by self, staff, and other professionals.

Manage the site/building/assets securely, ensuring all GCC procedures are adhered to.

Ensure the effective management of transport and related issues.

Ensure your training is updated and developed.

Undertake formal and informal supervision of staff as well as annual appraisals.

Be accountable for the performance of your staff and identify incidents of underperformance and address when applicable.

Ensure that you and your staff provide a personal centred service and that communication needs are met within your centre.

Ensure that the team understands the organisations vision and department aims and that the team is aware of how this effects their role and work.

Ensure staff complete relevant recording and file management.

Personal Requirements:

A relevant Professional Qualification e.g. DIPSW or DTMHA etc. or NVQ 4.

A relevant management qualification in care e.g. NVQ 4 in Care Management or similar or a willingness to undertake management training.

Health & Safety Qualification or willingness to undertake this.

Experience of working in Learning Disability or related field.

Effective leadership and extensive experience of teamwork.

Experience of being in a management role.

Experience of Health & Safety, risk issues, care planning and reviewing of individuals care plans and buildings.

Supervision of staff both formal and informal.

Proven experience of supporting a manager in a senior role.

Managing a budget.

Experience of managing performance issues.

An Enhanced Adults DBS with Barred List.

Working Hours: 09:00am – 17:00pm, Monday – Friday 

Pay: £30.16 p/h

Please note this role is within the scope of IR35.
