Interim Director of HR & People Partnering6–month fixed term contract

Summary of role
A strategic partner in driving the success of Babington by leading and overseeing various aspects of human resources, including people partnering, performance review, reward and recognition, engagement and well–being, and case management.
Brief summary of principle accountabilities
Key Accountabilities
- Collaborate with department heads to understand business objectives and develop HR strategies to support them.
- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on people–related matters, providing guidance and solutions to enhance team effectiveness.
- Conduct a thorough analysis of the current compensation structures for existing staff, considering their qualifications, experience, and job responsibilities.
- Identify any areas where adjustments may be necessary to ensure internal equity and competitiveness.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and market salary benchmarks to understand the competitive landscape; conducting periodic reviews of external market data to inform decisions related to salary adjustments for existing staff.
- Develop and implement a qualification–based compensation framework to ensure that employees are appropriately rewarded for their educational achievements and professional certifications.
- Design and implement a comprehensive performance management system that aligns with company goals.
- Collaborate with Finance to develop and manage a competitive and fair compensation and benefits structure.
- Design and execute employee engagement initiatives to enhance workplace satisfaction and productivity.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop and implement well–being programs that support employees' physical and mental health.
- Collaborate with Corporate Services to oversee employee relations, investigations, and case management, ensuring compliance with legal and company policies.
- Handle complex HR issues, providing guidance and solutions in line with best practices.
- Maintain accurate and confidential HR records related to employee cases.
Brief person specification Qualifications
- Grade A–C GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent
- CIPD Level 5 or above qualification or equivalent
Skills, Abilities and Experience
- Previous managerial experience in a senior HR role
- Demonstrable experience of managing multiple tasks and projects, ensuring quality standards are met across a wide geographical area
- Proven experience of complex Employee Relations case management
- Proven experience of working with senior stakeholders to meet overall organisation needs
- Proven experience of working in a fast–paced evolving environment
- Adapts strategy to meet changing demands
- Anticipates how change will impact upon others and maps out the steps to build commitment to change
- Builds and utilises effective relationships with others to maintain continuity when faced with complex challenge
- Consistently acts as a role model, engendering a culture of high performance and open communication
- Constantly curious interested and asks questions to fully understand the business and its challenges
- Creates a culture of recognition ensuring people are suitably equipped to perform and opportunity to develop and progress
