Job description
We're looking for a Senior Volunteering & Community Officer to join the team at South Devon Countryside. Based at the South & East Devon Office at Saltram but supporting the countryside team between Wembury and Dartmouth, we're looking for someone with experience in the volunteer and community sector.
The South Devon Countryside team are responsible for approximately 35 miles of beautiful coastline stretching from Wembury to Dartmouth and are part of the larger South and East Devon portfolio which stretches all the way to Branscombe.
Our team work with many volunteers and community groups to deliver our conservation work and create opportunities for the public to engage with our work and understand the National Trust’s cause.
We have many Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs) and strong partnerships with like minded organisations. The National Trust’s Land Outdoors and Nature agenda, provides an opportunity to pioneer a new approach to land management on a landscape scale.
We are a dynamic and friendly countryside team covering a wide area and have bases at different locations including Malborough near Salcombe and Saltram Stables.
You will be supporting the development and delivery of this portfolio’s strategic plan for volunteering and communities alongside the property leadership team. Managing and embedding change whilst widening and deepening our relationships with existing and new audiences.
The role will focus on the work that's being done as part of the South Devon Coast project, particularly on our work at Wembury where we are creating more opportunities for people to connect with nature.
With experience of volunteer management, as well as a broader participation and partnership working, you’ll build an effective and collaborative working relationships with property teams, partners and local communities.
You will also help to increase the confidence and capability of others whilst creating a collective, flexible and inclusive environment for existing & future volunteers, communities and partners.
