Job Title:  Ingredients Senior Technologist (Lipids)

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual with proven knowledge of food ingredients and materials. This role has a primary focus on lipids (fats, oils and emulsifiers).

This role offers great opportunities to develop, build and apply efficient ingredients solutions to products and manufacturing projects.

Essential:

• Educated to PhD or MSc level, with relevant experience, in a relevant Science subject area– Food Science, Bioscience, Food Materials, Biology, Chemistry or similar
  
• Proven work experience in Food Manufacturing Departments with some experience in project management
  
• Experience with food materials and manufacturing systems applicable to the product range
  
• Strong technical background, analytical techniques and processing methodology knowledge
  
• Familiarity with the Global regulatory landscape and food and safety legislation.
  
• Knowledge of basic project management techniques and proven experience in supporting effective delivery against critical metrics
  
• Positive attitude and willingness to get involved in new projects

• Experience working with suppliers and external partners.
  

Duties:

• Works independently with general supervision
  
• Technical management of the lipids category within the Company, acting as the key point of contact and driving resolution of issues through in-depth technical knowledge for both innovation and business continuity.
  
• Support the product development team to deliver outstanding innovation, through ingredients understanding and technical capability including lipids mimicking replacing alternatives.
  
• Contribute to identify and action cost management opportunities within the lipids category across the UK business. Work collectively with procurement and supply chain for those.
  
• Identify, develop and deploy partnerships with strategic suppliers to ensure innovation, technical upskilling and business continuity deliverables.
  
• Maintenance and review of lipids material specifications to ensure data accuracy and timely approval.
  
• Support broader Ingredients Team with cross-category day-to-day activities
  
• Work closely with R&D peers and other business functions (e.g. Supply Chain, Procurement, & Legal/Regulatory) in the delivery of all of the above.
