Job description

(This post is fixed term for 12 months)

Student Learning & Academic Registry Department currently have a vacancy for two Departmental Assistants. We are a busy team, responsible for managing the approval & review process of Teesside University courses, including those delivered by UK and international partners.

As a Departmental Assistant, working in the Quality Assurance & Validation (QAV) team, you will support the range of quality assurance activities associated with course approval & review.

Key Responsibilities

Organising approval events, liaising with Schools and Departments of the University and external panel members
Provide administrative support, including arranging meetings and taking minutes/notes.
Data input and distribution of documentation.
Maintain accurate records and files (manual and computerised)

The successful candidate will:

Have office administrative experience
Possess Word processing, spreadsheet and email skills (Microsoft Office or equivalent)
Have experience of using Management Information Systems and/or other databases
Be a team player with the ability to work proactively and multi-task
Have effective organisation skills and the ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines
Demonstrate commitment to delivering the service to a high standard
