The role: 1:1 teaching assistant
As a 1:1 teaching assistant you will be working in a year 4 class supporting a child with Autism. You must have PECS or Makaton trained, Level 3 Teaching assistant, CACHE Level 3 childcare and GCSES in English and Maths. In this role you will be supporting a childs physical, social and emotional needs. You will be supporting them to complete basic tasks and relay feedback to the class teacher regarding their progress. You will Supervise and provide particular support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities, Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes. Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs and Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils. Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher, Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence and Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher.

This school is based in the heart of Camden, they are a friendly and welcoming school who support around 265 students teaching 12 core subjects which includes English and Maths. This school is a 16 minute walk from the nearest station and has the bus stop right outside the school.
