Job description
Quality Engineer required for a growing business based near Rochdale. Working as part of a growing team, the Quality Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the quality systems, the QMS, health and safety systems and ensuring quality standards are maintained throughout the business.
Package Salary Range dependant on experience - £40,000 to £50,000
37 hours per week
Paid overtime
Core hours: Monday – Thursday 8.30am -5.00pm, Friday 8.30am – 2.00pm
Quality Engineer / Health & Safety Engineer Duties - Overall responsibility for the co-ordination of all company quality management and health and safety systems
- Systems include Basic business quality procedures, ASME VIII Division 1 Pressure Vessels, PD5500 Pressure Vessels and PED/PESR
- Generation and control of all quality and safety documentation and welding procedural and training records.
- Carry out & Co-ordination of all inspection and testing from goods inwards to final delivery.
- Quality management of designs and systems.
- Regular Internal Audits of Quality and Safety operations.
- Training of Staff in aspects of quality and safety.
- Management of all statutory and legislative inspections of premises and equipment.
- Liaison with all company insurers, third party inspection companies (RSA, BSI, ASME) including client specific and government inspectorates (HSE etc).
- Control and issue of lifting equipment
- Control and Coordination of building maintenance.
Requirements for the Quality Engineer / Health & Safety Engineer role - Previous experience in a Quality Engineer role within a mechanical engineering enviornment
- All candidates need an engineering qualification.
- Experienced in welding documentation and processes.
- A safety qualification is also required -Min IOSH managing safety or NEBOSH.
- Training may be offered for The welding and safety qualifications but this will be reflected in the salary offered.
