We’re expanding the team and looking for a new PHP Laravel developer! Join our team of 12 PHP developers from diverse nationalities. Together we build, manage, and improve a large Laravel application used by clients across Europe and beyond. We also perform DevOps tasks, and offer support to our clients.

Job profile PHP Developer

You will be involved in all parts of the product and process.

Your tasks will include:

• Attend “3 amigos” meetings where we discuss requirements and define what needs to be done
• Discuss development approach with colleagues inside the PHP team and the quantitative modelling team
• Write clean PHP code for frontend and backend using PHP8 and Laravel
• Write clean html and JavaScript code for frontend using native code and Vue
• Refactor code that we have identified to be improved or replaced
• Respond to bug reports from our QA team or from our clients
• Write unit tests and feature tests using PHPunit
• Commit your work using git and Github
• Review other developers’ code
• Improve and extend your skills by learning and sharing with other developers

We help companies make better financial decisions. We do this by providing a SaaS application with analytical software based on econometric and mathematical algorithms. Our customers are mostly large international companies that operate across Europe and beyond. They use our solutions to make investment decisions, manage price risks, optimize the use of their assets (such as (renewable) power plants, energy storage), and assess future market price scenarios. More and more of our clients are active in the field of renewable energy. We also have corporate clients that use our software for their commodity risk management.

We are a Dutch company with an international team of 30 people, working on software development (PHP team and quantitative modelling team), QA, IT support, marketing and sales.

Requirements for this position

• Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in a technical field
• At least 5 years of work experience in PHP development
• Good skills and recent experience with the Laravel framework
• Good skills and recent experience with modern JavaScript and html
• Excellent communication skills in English

Nice to have

• Experience with modern CI/CD pipelines (we use Github actions)
• Experience with containerization (we use Docker Compose)
