Role Purpose:

The purpose of this 12-month, part-time FTC role is to support the Education and CPD Development teams at a crucial time, as we implement our new education and training requirements (ETR) and come to the end of our current Continuing Professional Development scheme.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide technical and operational support to the teams with regards to development of our quality assurance and enhancement methods (QAEM), and development of our CPD scheme policies and processes.
  • Coach and train the team on different aspects of QAEM and CPD, as and when issues/queries arise.
  • Make recommendations in line with our Decision Making Framework.
  • Support the operationalisation of policies and processes through drafting and delivering training material to the Education and CPD Operations teams, and our bank of education visitors and CPD auditors and reviewers.
  • Support the sector as we adapt to new ETR and come to the end of the first cycle of our new CPD scheme.

Essential skills/Experience/Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in a statutory, professional or chartered body in an education quality assurance/accreditation role, and/or experience of working in a quality assurance role within a higher education institution, higher education standards body or regulator.
  • Excellent working knowledge of higher education quality assurance and/or experience of managing a CPD quality assurance function.
  • Strong information and data analytical and investigation skills, with the confidence to draw evidence-based conclusions/recommendations.
  • Strong organisation and planning skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to write clearly, precisely, and accessibly on complex issues, with attention to detail and accuracy.

This is an extremely exciting and busy time for the Education and CPD teams within the GOC. There have been huge changes as GOC-approved education providers adapt to our new education and training requirements (ETR), and we develop our quality assurance and enhancement methods which are outlined in the ETR. We are also coming to the end of our current three-year CPD cycle which saw the implementation of a new scheme (formerly CET) from 2022.

We are looking for someone with experience in different quality assurance methodologies, development of policies and processes, stakeholder engagement, and coaching and training of staff and stakeholders.

Closing date for this role is 10 March 2024 -midnight. Please note we reserve the right to close the role early dependent on number of applications.

Please note your application will not be accepted without a covering letter exampling how you meet the essential skills of this role, no more than 2 A4 pages.
