Unqualified Special Educational Needs Assistant

Teaching Personnel are on the lookout for a SEN Learning Support Assistant to work with students with complex needs such as Autism, Global Developmental Delays, ADHD and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties). All students in the provision have an Educational Healthcare Plan which is the key focus for learning. The school provides education through a mixture of basic curriculum topics as well as more specialist communication, social and life skills. Explorative and play-based learning is at the heart of the provision's ethos.

Your role would be to provide support and intervention 1:1 and in small groups in the classroom under the guidance of the teacher and healthcare professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and nurses. The school has great on-site facilities to support the student's needs!

- Support students with Autism and complex learning difficulties in their academic and social development.

- Assist in implementing personalised learning plans to meet the unique needs of each student.

- Provide assistance with activities of daily living and personal care, as required.

- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment and find dynamic ways to keep students engaged with activities both inside and outside the classroom.

This is a great opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge from your undergraduate degree and learn more about complex needs. Gaining work experience to pave the path to clinical / educational psychology. Also for those who have a background in childcare, healthcare or relevant topics.

You will need to have suitable references and a DBS certificate (or be eligible to apply).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
