IS THIS SOMETHING THAT INTERESTS YOU?

The Software Sales Engineer will primarily be responsible for bridging the knowledge and experience gap between the Sales and Customer success teams. The primary role of a software sales engineer is to sell Foods Connected software and services to clients by understanding their needs and demonstrating how the product meets those needs.

The Software Sales Engineer is an instrumental part of the Sales & Marketing team and will report into the Sales Manager. Through close collaboration and alignment with our Commercial Sales team you will deliver engaging and thought provoking product demonstrations to business’s across the food industry globally to provide a detailed insight into how the Foods Connected Systems can add value to their business. A strong knowledge of demonstrating SaaS products and an interest in the food industry will be required to effectively understand the issues being faced across the sector and how the Foods Connected products can offer solutions.

As part of this role we will expect a high standard of attention to detail. Preparation of customised demos that engage the audience will be required along with building proposals to customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Distil the technical requirements and challenges of a customer’s business and translate those requirements into a solution that the Foods Connected software can provide. 
• Through in depth product demonstrations, the Software Sales Engineer will guide prospective customers through the features and benefits of the software to their business, including conducting software demos and proof-of-concept exercises . 
• Respond to technical questions and concerns from customers, including questions related to software functionality, performance, security, project management and integrations.
• Tailoring product demos to showcase the specific features that are most relevant to the prospect’s needs, providing a more personalised experience. 
• Where necessary give prospects a hands-on experience, so they can better understand how the software works by get a real feel for the software by using it themselves.
• Maintenance of the Foods Connected Demonstration environment ensuring the system is always demo ready
• Build trust between the prospect and Foods Connected by showing an in depth knowledge of the software, the prospects business and the wider trends and issues affecting the food industry as a whole
• Staying up to date with new Foods Connected functionality: The software sales engineer must stay up to date with the latest features and updates to Foods Connected and external technology trends
• Collaborating with the sales manager to identify potential customers, create proposals, and develop pricing and licensing options.
• Collaborate with the sales and wider team to complete responses to RFI/ RFPs etc as received form potential customers.
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field and 2 year’s relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years’ experience in a similar role interacting with and demonstrating a SaaS platform.
• Experience contributing to or leading and presenting technical proposals as part of Sales Lifecycles.
• Prior experience with the Software and/or food industry.
  

Experience Required:

To perform this job successfully, the Software Sales Engineer should have experience with:

• Microsoft: 365 Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Knowledge of HubSpot or similar CRM system.
• An understanding of the functionality and gaps of the products and services they are selling utilised across the Food Industry by retailers and manufacturers.
