Head of Payment Strategy
Total Security Limited is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to take the lead as our Head of Payment Strategy. In this pivotal role, you will drive the formulation and recommendation of innovative merchant acquiring strategies, optimize fee structures, and enhance processing systems for our cutting-edge business-to-customer subscription-based online security products. As a key player, you will strategically manage relationships with third-party processors, negotiate complex agreements, and ensure competitive pricing. Your expertise will be pivotal in executing annual plans, developing profitability models, and achieving growth objectives.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Formulating and recommending to management the overall strategy for merchant acquiring, including strategies for improved products, delivery systems, approval rates, fee structures and processing systems.
- Strategically managing relationships with third-party processors and vendors, including negotiating complex service and fee agreements and obtaining competitive pricing.
- Creating and executing annual plans, including the development of profitability models, and ensuring the achievement of annual growth and profitability objectives.
- Providing support and training to the team.
- Managing relationships with service providers to ensure product requirements are clearly defined and that systems delivered meet requirements.
- Liaising with internal departments, ensuring all new and existing products fall within acceptable risk parameters.
- Review, implement & manage fraud prevention processes and tools to mitigate risk.
- Monitor & manage transaction forecast, conversion rates and decline reasons across all currencies and products.
- Represent the organisation in various industry and professional forums to promote the value of the company brand.
- Implement & maintain processing compliance in line with regulatory and Government policies.
- Define and execute a comprehensive and proactive partnership strategy for a portfolio of critical card network partners.
Your qualifications and skills include:
- Experience working in a similar role for a large subscription based business would be highly desirable.
- University degree in accounting/finance or related discipline.
- Extensive merchant acquiring experience.
- Sound knowledge of Visa and Mastercard bankcard operating regulations.
- Ability to execute initiatives effectively and deliver results.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Well-developed financial skills and experience to manage the profitability of the merchant portfolio.
- Excellent communication, management and negotiation skills.
- Strong writing and management accounting skills to prepare business cases and strong verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications with superior excel skills.
