Salary: Grade 7, £30,296 - £33,945 per annum.

37 hours per week

Your role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a person with significant previous enforcement knowledge and experience to join a proactive and intelligence led Trading Standards team.  You will cover a range of trading standards disciplines, be willing to tackle issues with a range of approaches and be keen to make a positive difference to the community. You will investigate complaints, conduct enforcement visits, analyse intelligence, gather evidence and prepare investigation reports for court proceedings. 

About you:

You will be an enthusiastic person, willing to develop new skills and to contribute to challenging tasks as part of a team.  You will be confident dealing with the public in a professional manner and able to present information and write reports in an articulate manner. Ideally you will be experienced in trading standards enforcement activities. Consideration will be given to candidates able to demonstrate significant experience in a previous enforcement background.

Candidates with no current recognised trading standards qualification will be expected to study for and achieve the CTSI Trading Standards Practitioners Certificate. The post will involve some manual work and out of hours as required.
