Job description
Pure are delighted to be working in partnership with the University of Cambridge Finance Division as they embark on an exciting Enhanced Financial Transparency (EFT) Project which is highly significant and will have a University-wide impact. The project forms part of an overall Finance Transformation Programme (FTP).
Do you have the experience and drive to be instrumental in the development of new financial systems, processes and reporting for the Academic University, and development and implementation of the Oracle financial consolidation system being introduced as part of the Finance Transformation Programme.
You will work within the Group Reporting team, which is part of the Finance Division. The team have a significant role to play in the FTP, working across the Finance Division and the wider University to ensure design of effective systems and processes, develop comprehensive and transparent reporting, and providing significant support to the development of new technologies to deliver improved financial reporting for the University.
You will provide subject matter expertise for and influence on the future design of financial structures (chart of accounts), system solutions (such as Oracle Fusion, FCCS and Tableau) and financial processes and contribute to the design and development of accounting tools and methodologies to translate between GAAP and management reporting processes. You will provide technical and accounting solutions to deliver a smooth transition between current and newly designed planning and budgeting processes and support and enhance financial communications to embed the need for change in financial reporting and support the development of projects.
You will have experience of managing and communicating change in accounting practices with a variety of stakeholders, experience of developing record to report processes to deliver clear translations between GAAP reporting and Activity Based Costing management accounting and the ability to interpret financial information and present to both financial and non-financial stakeholders with competence in the use of Oracle Financials or similar accounting programme.
You will be educated to degree level/ level 7 vocational qualification or be Chartered accountant or have equivalent level of experience.

This arrangement is subject to change and will not form a part of the contractual terms of the role. Funding for this post is available for 3 years in the first instance Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure and a security check.
