Our Client based in the Bedford area are looking to recruite a Robot Programmer / Cad Cam Programmer:

Programs Reporting to: Managing Director Main purpose:

This is an interesting and varied position, which will involve;

Hands-on robot programming, co-ordination of robot programming activities, working on process planning of existing contracts, providing process engineering support for new business quote proposals, liaising with like-minded customer and supplier engineers to develop and integrate robot control interface to client specification and assist in the development and training of junior and apprentice engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate should have knowledge and experience in;

- robot programming (predominantly ABB Robots)

- experience within the automotive sector

- understanding of robot control interface with ancillary equipment

- use of robot simulation packages would be of benefit

- good understanding/experience of PLC controlled systems

- design, program, test and implements systems for all robotic machines

- serving as project lead for new robotic installations

- training of operators to effectively and efficiently operate robotic cells

Requirements and skills

- excellent knowledge of CAD/CAM software

- knowledge of cost, efficiency, and productivity optimisation methods

- ability to develop and evaluate integrated systems

- an analytical mind - resourcefulness

- outstanding communication skills - degree in Engineering, Computer Science or similar field

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, a team player and an experienced programmer, who will also have the skills and ability to use a multiple of disciplines to successfully progress in their chosen areas of operations. Remuneration to reflect experience and qualification.

Terms - the position is permanent, based on 40hrs per week - salary based on experience, knowledge, and competence. - access to the company contribution pension scheme - 22 days annual holiday, rising 1 day per year, up to a maximum 25 days per annum. - Full UK driving licence is essential
