Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Bradford, West Yorkshire

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal Hospital in Bradford, West Yorkshire for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join them in a lead medicine role capacity. The Vet will work alongside the Clinical Director. As the practice understands the importance of a work / life balance they are happy to discuss flexible working patterns.
- Type: Permanent Veterinary Surgeon
- Hours: Full time 4 or 5 day week Shifts from 08.30 - 16.00, 09;00 - 19;00, 08;00-17;00
- Weekends: 1:6 weekends comprising of Saturday 08.30 - 16.00 and Sundays working 09.00 - 15.00 and 1 Saturday morning 8.30am - 12.00
- TOIL: Time off in lieu the week after working the weekend
- OOH: None
- Computer System: Merlin
- Up to 65,000 per annum commensurate to experience
The role
- Permanent Veterinary Surgeon
- 4- or 5-day working week covering a 40 hour week
- 1:6 weekends comprising of Saturday 08.30 - 16.00 and Sundays working 09.00 - 15.00 and 1 Saturday morning 8.30am - 12.00
- No OOH
- Lead Medicine role within the Hospital
- The position offer career progression as with a medical bias it could lead onto a CD role
- It provides a large variety of medical and surgical cases
- Certificates are supported
- The Hospital support all their Vets with various levels of special interest
Responsibilities
- The Vet will be responsible for providing a high standard of veterinary care and customer service.
- They will lead the medicine side of this hospital and work closely alongside the CD
- The Vet will be responsible to ensuring that there is excellent communication between themselves and the team and with clients.
About them:
- Established Animal Hospital and 5 branch surgeries
- Provide their own OOH service
- Highly experienced team of certificate holding surgeons.
- They are equipped with facilities to deal with a wide variety of medical and surgical cases
- They are located close to both Leeds and Bradford
- They have a team of 14 Vets, 2 Night Vets and 7 Nurses. They have certificate holders in ECC and ophthalmology along with a few nurses who hold post graduate qualifications.
- They are fully equipped with various diagnostics and have dental x-rays, soft tissue and orthopaedic theatres, ultrasound and endoscopy
- Excellent local reputation along with a friendly and supportive team
- The practice provides a high standard of care and customer service to all its patients and clients.

Who are they looking for
- They are looking for an experienced Vet who will be motivated and driven and embrace all aspects of the small animal role
- The Vet will be happy with some sole charge work - support will be available for less experienced Vets
- It would be advantageous if the Vet held a certificate in small animal medicine or they were looking to start working towards a certificate
- The Vet will be a team player, with good interpersonal skills and be able to establish strong working relationships.
- The vet will have excellent communications skills and a compassionate attitude along with excellent client facing skills and ability to build working relationships easily
- The Vet will always maintain a high standard of clinical care

- Salary: Up to 65,000 pro rata commensurate to experience
- Holidays: 6.6 weeks annual incl bank holidays increasing with service and birthday off
