Deputy Head: Academic

We are seeking to appoint a highly qualified and ambitious Deputy Head, Academic from September 2024. This is a great opportunity for a talented individual to take the lead in a world-renowned school at a time of development across all areas of the school.

The successful candidate will be committed to the development of passionate subject teachers and challenging and engaging subject teaching. They will want to make a difference across the whole school to the learning experiences of every pupil and will show a commitment to the best innovation in teaching and learning based on collective experience and educational research.

As a Deputy, you will report to the Head and to Council on the academic direction of the school, lead a team of very able academic staff, run the academic budget and be a model professional. You will also be able to learn about aspects of the school beyond your direct remit and in other schools whether in finance, estates, boarding or pastoral areas in order to extend your capacity.  The role is to lead, develop and deliver the academic strategy across the school.  A candidate seeking their own Headship within five years will find excellent opportunities for professional development.
