Job description
The Clinical Nurse Specialist will contribute to a specialist Oncology Gynaecology Care Service acting as a key worker to provide support and information for patients. The post holder will promote and maintain high professional standards of nursing care to patients. The Clinical Nurse will practice autonomously and in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team to assess, plan and implement patients care and provide highly specialist advice. The implementation of the Cancer Recovery Package (RP) is part of the National Cancer strategy. It is a set of essential interventions designed to deliver a person centred approach to care for people affected by cancer. The Clinical Nurse will lead on the implementation and evaluation of the Recovery Package. The Clinical Nurse will provide leadership and manage the Living Beyond Cancer Programme and the coordination of the move from traditional follow to patient led follow up.
