Due to investment and expansion in our service, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Occupational Therapist to join our friendly team delivering specialist therapy services to children and young people across Buckinghamshire. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and develop our school age therapy services across health, education and social care settings.

As a Highly Specialist Occupational therapist you will:
• Work autonomously to assess and support children aged 4-19 with complex physical and psychological conditions. Design tailored intervention programmes to maximise their independence.
• Take a lead role in developing new care pathways, guidelines and training packages in specialist areas including chronic fatigue, DCD and high health needs.
• Provide expert coaching to guide therapists and nurture their development.
• Collaborate with our dedicated MDT to coordinate seamless care and achieve the best outcomes for your patients.
• To undertake accurate risk assessments in accordance with Trust policy and to ensure that risk to self, other staff and children/young people is always minimised . Risk assessments to include lone worker, work environments, and clinical risk when working with children & young people.
• To work at a highly specialist level in partnership with other members of the multidisciplinary team to manage complex cases
• To organise and manage appropriate delegation of patient care to specialist therapists and therapy assistants, acting as supervisor and mentor.
• Acknowledge physical and emotional demands of all aspects of the role and to utilise the procedures and systems that are in place to help manage this.
• To be responsible for the safe and competent use of all appropriate equipment.
• To maintain accurate and up to date documentation consistent with legal and organisational requirements.
