Location

Leatherhead, Surrey | United Kingdom

Job description

ESP Utilities Group is one of the UK’s largest and longest established Independent Gas Transporters (IGT) and Independent Distribution Network Operators (IDNO), which means we own and operate gas and electricity networks, as well as gas smart meters. In 2021, ESP Utilities (ESPUG) launched a new water business, ESP Water, to offer water and sewerage connections to new build domestic housing and mixed developments.

We have over 700,000 customers, connected on a variety of residential, industrial and commercial networks across the UK.

Utilities have a complex and ever-changing regulatory landscape, and this includes the way in which we are allowed to charge our customers.

We need to constantly be aware of what is compliant with regards to charging and tariffs, what that means to us financially, and how the regulatory landscape is changing and what effect that will have.

ESP is looking to employ a Regulatory Charging Specialist to be responsible for maintaining current compliance and understanding future compliance states.

Role Purpose

The Regulatory Charging Specialist will play a key role in advising the Commercial, Pricing and Regulatory Teams on charging issues as well as providing regulatory analysis of changes to charging regulations (in particular electricity charging) and how they affect the business.

You will also be required to help manage economic regulatory change within the business. This role requires you to represent ESP in industry groups and at various regulatory/industry code meetings as needed.

This an excellent opportunity to progress a career in an economic regulation role, gain knowledge of electricity, gas and water charging regulations and work with a range of stakeholders at all levels.
