Job Title: Multiskilled Mechanical Engineer

Location: Newmarket, UK

Salary: £35,000 - £48,000 per annum

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Multiskilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at a large privately-owned estate based in Newmarket. As a Multiskilled Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of various mechanical systems and equipment on the estate. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a diverse and dynamic environment, contributing to the smooth functioning of a prestigious estate.

Responsibilities:

Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs of mechanical equipment, including HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, generators, and other related machinery.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues, diagnose problems, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal functioning and prolong the lifespan of mechanical systems.
Respond to emergency repair requests promptly and efficiently, minimizing downtime and disruptions to estate operations.
Collaborate with other team members, contractors, and external service providers to coordinate repairs, upgrades, and installations.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment maintenance logs, and inventory management.
Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements related to mechanical engineering, ensuring the application of innovative solutions.
Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Assist in the planning and execution of capital improvement projects, including equipment upgrades, energy efficiency initiatives, and system enhancements.
Provide technical guidance and support to other staff members as needed.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer, preferably in a facilities management or estate environment.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions.
Demonstrated ability to perform preventive maintenance tasks and effectively manage multiple priorities.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts for emergency repairs or special projects.
Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various locations within the estate as needed.

We offer competitive compensation within the range of £35,000 - £48,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth and development.
