Bench Joiner (L1Z3)
Description
We are currently seeking a skilled Bench Joiner (L1Z3) to join our team. As a Bench Joiner, you will be responsible for assembling and fitting parts of wooden articles according to specifications. You will work with a variety of tools and machinery to ensure that the finished product meets the highest quality standards.
In this role, attention to detail is crucial, as you will be responsible for interpreting drawings and plans to determine the specifications for each project. You will then use your skills and expertise to cut, shape, and join wood pieces to construct the required products. You will also be involved in sanding, staining, and finishing the wood surfaces to enhance their appearance and durability.
Successful candidates will have a strong background in bench joinery, with excellent knowledge of woodworking techniques and materials. You should be comfortable working independently and have the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure are also essential in this role.
Responsibilities
Interpret drawings and plans to determine specifications for each project
Cut, shape, and join wood pieces using a variety of tools and equipment
Assemble and fit parts of wooden articles accurately and efficiently
Smooth and shape wood surfaces using hand tools and sanding equipment
Apply stains, varnishes, and other finishes to enhance and protect wood surfaces
Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements
Previous experience as a Bench Joiner or similar role
Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques and materials
Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools
Ability to interpret technical drawings and plans
Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
Excellent time management skills
Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects
Willingness to follow health and safety guidelines

Pay Per Hour: £27.63
