Job description
- Demonstrate versatility and the ability to concurrently handle and oversee a mix of compliance and advisory projects, effectively managing their workflow and appropriate tracking.
- Maintain high-quality corporate tax compliance and advisory work by staying current with tax legislation, researching as needed, and presenting findings clearly.
- Ensure all corporate tax documents meet required standards, including disclosures for compliance and thorough research for advisory projects.
- Liaise with HMRC, clients, and third parties as necessary.
- Coordinate with the Accounts team for accurate tax return reviews and data gathering for advisory projects.
- Supervise taxation training for Audit and Accounts teams, supporting their professional development.
- Research tax legislation, present findings clearly.
- Collaborate with clients, addressing their queries.
- Work autonomously, seek assistance when needed, identify learning opportunities, and propose solutions.
- Provide support across all aspects of the team's services, including areas where limited experience exists. Appropriate support will be provided, encompassing tasks such as:
- Accurate and timely completion or review of all corporate tax returns and calculations.
- Identifying tax planning opportunities during compliance work or client interactions.
- Advising clients on corporation tax payments, including QIPs (Quarterly Instalment Payments).
- Handling group loss relief claims and loan relationship queries as they arise.
- Supporting the firm's R&D offerings and related projects, taking ownership of R&D assignments when appropriate.
- Managing inquiries into corporation tax returns as they occur.
- Involvement in Tax Due Diligence (DD) assignments and Tax Transaction Advisory services as needed.
- Assisting with group reorganisation and restructuring advice.
