Job description
A-C-E Charity requires a Director of Finance to oversee and manage all financial activities including the preparation of financial reports and accounts and payroll.
What will you be doing?
Main responsibilities will be -
- Ensure that ACE has a financial plan and strategy and lead on its delivery
- Ensure up-to-date financial accounts are maintained on income and expenditure.
- Analyse and provide reports to board meetings on the current and projected financial position.
- Provide the board with advice and guidance on financial matters.
- Preparation of forecasts and budgets
- Oversee audit and tax function
- Ensure annual accounts are promptly completed and audited.
- Ensure all statutory returns are completed and submitted, including tax returns and reports for regulatory bodies.
- Maintain the bank account and communications with the bank.
- Act a signatory of statutory documents and bank account.
What are we looking
for?
- Certified or Chartered Accountant.
- Willingness to actively participate in discussions concerning needs of company’s beneficiaries, staff and the trustee board.
- Willingness to act in the best interest of the charity while adhering the Nolan principles of public life.
- Financial management experience with an in-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practise.
- Strong analytical skills
- Good strategic thinking.
- Sound, independent judgement and ability to think creatively.
- Working effectively as a team member and demonstrating a willingness to learn and develop.
What difference will you make?
You will be a key member of the board, dealing with all our finances including payroll, paying of invoices, submitting monthly reports to the Board and advising the Board at monthly meetings.
