An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a friendly, patient-centred independent practice (approx 10,000 patients) which is situated in Yeovil town centre with excellent rail links making travel to London, Bristol, Exeter and Bath easy. We have the World Heritage Jurassic Coast nearby and enjoy wonderful surrounding countryside. We are a high achieving practice working from a purpose-built premises with staff car parking.
The practice is looking for an enthusiastic and committed part-time salaried GP who shares our ethos of high quality family based personal care to join our long established and happy practice. Whilst committed to a high standard of general practice with continuity of care through personal lists, the practice is also forward thinking and is closely engaged with the other Yeovil practices as part of the Yeovil Primary Care Network. We take an active role in the mutually supportive PCN which is a vanguard in collaborative working. All clinical team members take a shared part in extended hours duties, but the collaborative network results in limited and manageable workload.

We use EMIS Web as our clinical system supported by a range of other computer-based tools and have been at the vanguard of some of the developments in primary care in recent years.The practice also uses an on-the-day triage tool (askmyGP) to manage acute demand and offer 15 minute virtual and face-to-face appointments.
We see teamwork and quality of life as important attributes of the practice, with daily pre-clinic huddles and morning coffee each day as well as more formal weekly practice or clinical meetings. Ongoing development is important to us, so this is encouraged and supported by a regular monthly half day closure for team training. There is a focus on shared internal workload for admin tasks and an open-door policy amongst all doctors. The clinical team are supported by two Advanced Nurse Practitioners, a Clinical Pharmacist, a six strong nursing team, prescription management team and an experienced group of medical secretaries as well as a full complement of support staff including health coaches.
We enjoy informal chats, both work and non-work related, and prioritise family life. We are realistic in our expectations and none of us expect to be a superhero. We aim to finish work at an acceptable hour!
