Play Therapist

Job description

As a play therapist you will work to support children with a range of additional needs including adverse childhood experiences, SEND, and social, emotional mental health needs. You will work outside of the main classroom to support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis, liaising with class teachers, members of SLT and specialist agencies to ensure that the children receive optimal support. With the correct support, these children will develop a greater understanding of the world around them enabling them to better manage their emotions and utilise a range of coping strategies.

Key points:

• Assess the emotional needs of children in consultation with other professionals in schools.
• Provide play interventions to children individually and within groups.
• Support parents/ carers providing any necessary information and support.
• Monitor, assess and report on child's progress.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
