Laboratory Technician (Chemistry)
St Albans, UK
Salary: £21,675 - £23,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Responsibilities:
- Chemical analyses such as titrations, gravimetric analyses,
- Use of ion selective electrodes and spectroscopy in accordance with accredited methods and quality procedures.
- Training is given internally on each method and technique as the requirement arises.
- Preparation of reagents, standards and glassware.
- Data input, booking in samples and general administration of the sample throughput.
- Preparing samples for analysis in accordance with accredited methods and quality procedures.
- Ensure all safety and quality standards are met.
- Ad hoc duties as required.
Essential skills :
- Accurate, systematic methods of working form the one of the most important parts of the experience required. Attention to detail is necessary as all parts of the works are to follow the quality system with regular calibrations, duplicate samples and analysis of quality control standards.
- Previous relevant experience in a similar role
- A scientific background, an interest in materials testing and a GCSE in Physics or Chemistry or Science.
- Highly motivated and organised professional Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and adhere to deadlines.
