SEND Administrator

Uplands Academy

Location

East Sussex | United Kingdom

Job description

We are seeking applications from committed and enthusiastic individuals to join us in the role of SEND Administrator. This is a pivotal role for the school as you will be responsible for providing dedicated administrative support to our SENDCo and wider learning support team, enabling the team to continue to provide and deliver essential support for our students. This will be a rewarding role for the successful candidate, as you will be joining a supportive and dedicated team that makes a real impact on our school every day. The post will suit someone with a natural ability to engage with young people, too, as you will be working in a busy, student support-focused environment.

This role is part-time, term time only. The 20 hours are to be ideally worked over 3 working days, Monday to Friday. We can be flexible with working hours if required.

We are a mixed 11–18 non-selective converter academy with approximately 835 students. Uplands Academy converted to an Academy in September 2022 and became a member of the MARK Education Trust (formerly Beacon Community College Academy Trust). The acronym MARK was selected because staff who work in the trust are motivated, ambitious, resourceful, and knowledgeable. This partnership will provide many exciting opportunities for professional development and the sharing of good practice across the two schools. This is the start of a new era for Uplands and an excellent time to join our thriving rural school.

We work meticulously to secure a culture of unapologetically high expectations that are underpinned by our collective, uncompromising belief and ambition for the students of Uplands Academy. Our experienced, loyal, highly skilled and highly effective team of staff work together so that teachers can teach and students can learn. The Academy is committed to the development of both its staff and students.

At Uplands Academy, the relationships between our staff and our students are excellent and ones that we are proud of. Our staff have high expectations, are ambitious for our students, and they know them well. We pride ourselves on our rigorous focus on the child as a unique individual, including our most disadvantaged and those with SEND. We ensure that the lessons that our students receive are personalised and inclusive, enabling them to be actively engaged in their learning. We want our children to be happy, successful, and confident by providing the best possible education for all our students. We want to be an exceptional educational establishment for our community.

To apply, please visit:

Closing date: 10am on Monday 18th March 2024.

We advise applying promptly for this post as we reserve the right to close and interview early if sufficient suitable applications have been received.

All posts are subject to DBS enhanced clearance, health checks and satisfactory references. MARK Education Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
