Role Overview
Eclipse Automation is seeking a driven
Project Manager to join our growing Business Operations team in
Cambridge, ON . OurBusiness Operations teamsare the fuel that keeps our organization running at hyper speed, they might not build robots, but what they do is just as important and just as cutting-edge.
Reporting to the Director, Project Management, the Project Manager will provide leadership and coordination of project management functions, in-addition, working directly with applications department, customers and Project team to direct project scope and ensure profitability goals are met on budget.
The Project Manager job responsibilities may include but are not limited to: - Direct and coordinate project schedules and resource allocation within the individual project teams
- Monitor and communicate the project scope to the project teams as well as updating entire project time of contract changes
- Create and review project schedules with the customer and project team to ensure on time project delivery
- Review initial project scope and buy-in to project budget
- Develop and manage project budgets and maintain project profitability
- Monitor all progress by the project teams daily, pinpoint possible issues with design, budgets, schedules and customers.
- Liaison between all departments to ensure time delivery of purchased items and on time delivery of Eclipse machinery and equipment.
- Co-chair company’s project meetings to ensure all department leaders meet design specifications, schedules and project budgets.
- Review new projects with applications and department managers to allocate budgets and company resources.
- Assist in the design evaluation of accepted project orders.
- Record all Research & Development work per project is reported for SR&ED claims.
- Attend design review meetings to confirm project scope is met.
- Review and approve specific project and department personnel expense reports.
Qualifications:
- University Degree or College Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering/Robotics Automation Technology/Project Management/Business Economics or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- 5+ years’ experience in a project management capacity within custom automation
- Project Management Professional certification or working towards obtaining PMP Certification
- Experience in strategic planning and execution
- Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, accounting principles and sound business practices
- Knowledge of structuring resource planning, managing budgets and revenue expectations
- Proficiency with MS office-based software and MS Project
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and SolidWorks would be an asset
