UBT are proudly working with an established family run SME business based in Loughborough. The company was founded in 1975 and are enjoying growth year on year with 2024 looking to be no exception. The business is now looking to recruit an experienced hands on Buyer/Purchasing Officer to join their busy purchasing team. The successful applicant will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating and purchasing goods whilst maintaining a good relationship with suppliers. The candidate will have an eye for detail, excellent negotiation skills and have a passion in driving value to the business. Knowledge of stock forecasting, lead times and sourcing internationally will be advantageous in this exciting and challenging position. [ The role ]

• Raising and placing purchase orders for stock, bespoke and capital expenditure goods
• Managing and negotiating with existing suppliers
• Sourcing new products and suppliers
• Maintaining accuracy of supplier data on the ERP system
• Reviewing and maintaining effective stock levels
• Processing costing enquiries from the sales team
• Monitoring delivery lead times
• Invoice query resolution
• Supporting the Senior Management Team

Requirements

• Experience as a Buyer within a busy SME business
• CIPS qualification or working towards is desirable
• Be a strong and confident communicator, both verbally and in writing
• Strong attention to detail
• Good time management and organisational skills
• Be motivated to achieve positive results and reach targets
• Be competent in common MS office packages including Excel
• Hungry, humble and smart personality attributes

Working hours: Monday to Friday 8am-5:30pm (office based)
