Job description

With a Driving Licence and use of a car, our Safe Hands Recovery Worker will work as part of a small team to provide a public facing role in the delivery of an Out Of Hours Home-Sitting Mental Health Provision. Working in pairs, they will provide de-escalation approaches and an understanding approach to supporting service members made up of people with mental health problems experience mental distress, within their own homes or in non-clinical settings.

Working in communication with the NHS Crisis Pathways, they will provide an assessment of the level of need and provide mental health first aid and/or provision which distracts from mental health distress until the service member feels safe. They will also support Crisis Intervention workers and the police with the provision of a safe place for people in mental distress.

Number of Roles and Employer: Two roles employed by Burton and District Mind

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week.

To be worked between:
2pm-10pm Sunday to Saturday with 30 minutes unpaid break, fortnightly rota, flexibility required.

Bank Holiday working also expected.

Contract: Permanent – service contract two 2 years minimum.

£11.19 per hour, 2pm-8pm weekdays and Saturdays
£15.19 per hour, 6pm- 10pm weekdays and Saturdays
£19.72 per hour for Sundays and Bank Holidays

Responsible to: Contract Manager and Safe Hands Team Leader
Liaise with

Community Recovery Workers, volunteers. Line Manager, Mental Health Practitioners from MPFT, voluntary sector partners, police, health professionals, people with mental health problems and their carers, other local mental health providers, external charities and other agencies who support people with mental health problems and the general public with need.

Based in: St. Michaels Lichfield

Annual leave 28 days inclusive of Bank Holidays pro rata for part-time staff (TOIL will be expected)
