Job description

Are you experienced in providing professional engineering support to project teams in the UK to deliver defined engineering tasks to meet client requirements, in line with legal and company obligations? If so, we could have the perfect role for you!

We have an exciting, full-time permanent, opportunity for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our client based in Saltend, Hull.

The role offers an attractive salary and benefits package working for a Company with over 25 years’ experience providing operations management, engineering services and energy management solutions.

You will be:

• Providing consultancy services and deputy line management responsibilities as Lead Engineer
• Delivering scope of works in full and on time
• Supporting electrical discipline recruitment and managing staff performance reviews by assessing competence with input to MPPs
• Providing technical support to teams and projects with design assurance support for electrical disciplines
• Producing and reviewing electrical operation and installation documentation
• Troubleshooting performance and conducting root cause analysis to recommend electrical improvements
• Working with minimum supervision whilst making budgetary, schedule and safety decisions
• Ensuring quality procedures and compliance via audits
• Assisting and supporting all aspects of electrical equipment roll out and project activities
• Supporting the development of proposals for new business opportunities

You will need:

• A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
• Full project life-cycle electrical engineering project delivery experience including Pre-FEEDs, FEEDs and EPC within chemicals, petrochemicals, oil and gas, and power generation industries, and experience designing LV systems
• Effective communication, presentation and report writing skills
• Working knowledge of electrical design legislation and standards
• Experience of hazardous area equipment selection and installation design standards and requirements
• Experience electrical systems commissioning, specification, purchase, installation, modelling and design
• Knowledge and application of SHE systems, quality systems, legislation pertinent to electrical discipline systems and standards
