To provide a high-quality clinical psychology assessment and therapeutic service to young people at the Hope and Horizon Units. • To assess young people with complex mental health needs and develop psychological interventions based on psychological formulation to support this need • To work as an integrated member of the Hope and Horizon Teams and to work with external services as appropriate • To be responsible for and manage a defined psychology caseload. • The post holder will be required to maintain an appropriate balance of face-to-face client therapy, indirect contacts and supporting other staff to ensure the most effective use of clinical psychology skills and knowledge We are committed to staff development and have an extensive psychological therapies training programme. In 2008 Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust opened its first Adolescent Acute In-patient service for 13 – 18 year olds (the Hope Unit) in response to the Governments legislation that by 2010 no child under 16 years old is admitted to an adult ward and all under 18 year olds are treated in an environment suitable to their needs. The Hope Unit operates on a 4-6 weeks care pathway providing assessment and acute treatment. Building on the success of this unit the CAMHS Directorate within Pennine Care have extended its service model by opening a further 10 bedded unit on the same site at Fairfield General Hospital, Bury in September 2010 for young people, up to the age of 18, who will require a flexible and responsive service for longer-term in-patient assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for a range of complex mental health needs (the Horizon Unit). Both units comprise of a full Multi Disciplinary Team where everyone plays a key role in its development and success. The units were recently rated ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC and hold current QNIC (Quality Network for Inpatient CAMHS) accreditation status. There is an opportunity for a qualified clinical psychologist to join these dynamic multi-disciplinary teams on a permanent full-time basis. As a member of the multi-disciplinary teams, the post-holder will contribute to the provision of psychological assessment and intervention to the young people at the Hope and Horizon Units. The post-holder will contribute to the development and implementation of therapeutic care plans alongside other members of the team and will contribute to the assessment and management of risk. You will receive clinical supervision from an experienced clinical psychologist and have strong links with both the CAMHS care hub psychological therapies teams and the trust-wide newly qualified groups and trust-wide psychological therapies leads.
