Job description
Our client is a well-established civil contractor who provides the very best Integrated Engineering services within UK. They serve in Petrochemical, Food Manufacturing, Oil & Gas and Pharmaceutical.
They would consider someone on a contract or permanent basis.
The role of the EC&I Engineer is wide and will include:
- Clarify and agree project requirements at all levels
- Contribute to the project delivery plan demonstrating strong technical and commercial awareness
- Work closely with the project team to achieve agreed milestones
- Working under autonomous initiative and self-motivation lead a team of cross disciplined personnel in the delivery of significant size work packages
- Produce technical solutions from customer requirements and initial concepts and lead/work with the engineers and designers to provide optimal design solutions to the project
- Keep abreast of latest developments in the engineering arena especially with respect to the latest developments in technologies and techniques
- Produce project deliverables in accordance with project requirements current best practice and to the relevant standards and procedures
- Advise and direct the team on design issues as necessary throughout the project lifecycle and ensure a coherent approach to project delivery is adopted
- Adhere to all company and statutory H&S policies rules regulations and laws
- Adhere to the company Quality Management System (QMS) contribute to the development of the QMS and proactively enforce and monitor team compliance to the QMS.
Requirements
Essential:
- Previous team leadership and technical leadership of a team of EC&I Engineers electrical engineers and designers
- In depth knowledge of Power / Power Systems Engineering or Software, Control and Instrumentation within a highly regulated industry (e.g. nuclear, energy, offshore, aerospace).
- Well versed in the application of standards to projects through the lifecycle.
- Ability to develop processes and procedures to drive continuous improvement and efficiency.
- Knowledge and application of European and International Standards and EC&I best practice
- Good communication and influencing skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A degree in a relevant engineering discipline or the ability to demonstrate the Underpinning Knowledge and Understanding required for chartership.
- Ideally a Chartered Engineer.
- Considerable experience in working with a highly regulated industry.
- Leadership in a technical environment.
- Capture and management of staff skills and experience within an appropriate tool.
- Experience in carrying out formal reviews of technical programmes.
- Depth of experience consistent with Principal or Senior Principal EC&I engineer
