Job Title: Carer
Responsible to: Directly accountable to and taking direction from the employer (Mum)
Hours: 7 hours a week during school holidays - 13 weeks per year
Hourly Rate of Pay: £11.50
Based at: Employer’s own home in Barrow, Suffolk and out in the local community
Job Purpose
The purpose of the job is to support and be a friendly companion to a young boy with cerebral palsy and a developmental delay. The child lives at home with his family. The purpose is to build a trusting, professional relationship with the child and to support him with all his needs.
Main duties:
Personal care e.g. washing, toileting..
Constant supervision is required at all times.
Support with all safety aspects.
To be a social friendly companion to the child
To support with sensory play
You will be required to keep him entertained in the home.
To build a supportive relationship and take part in activities which the child enjoys.
To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required.

Be respectful of the employer’s dignity, at all times.
You should have a thorough understanding of personal safety.
You should have some knowledge and understanding of risks.

The post carries a 6 month’s probationary period.
