An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and innovative Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) - School Nurse to join our the Healthy Child Programme5-19 (HCP) team inWest Sussex .

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a skilled clinical practitioner with excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. We need Specialist Community Public Health Nurses who are committed to the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme to the school-age population ofWest Sussex.

The ideal candidate will have a strong approach to teamwork, whilst also demonstrating the ability to work using their own initiative. They will also have a good understanding of the health and wellbeing needs of children, young people and their families, and be dedicated to the delivery of high quality and compassionate care.

Job responsibilities

The post holder has the responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and the setting of standards of care within the school nursing service.

The post holder has the continuing responsibility for the management of a defined caseload and supervises, deploys and teaches junior staff members and students within a skill mix team. The post holder will provide clinical leadership to a skill mix team within the 5-19 HCP nurses.

A high degree of flexibility and the ability to work independently are required; applicants must have a valid driving licence and the use of a car available for work.
