Job description
We continue to partner with one of the UK's leading food manufacturing businesses and we are supporting them in their search for a Laboratory Technician to join them on site in Bedfordshire. Reporting to the QA Manager, the Laboratory Technician will be responsible for testing product samples and managing non-conforming product and facilitate the administration of documentation. Role accountabilities: • Test Product samples in an accurate, timely and efficient manner to agreed standard using defined methodology. All results and library samples recorded in appropriate format. • Equipment standardised and maintained according to schedule and a record made. • Data entry of results onto the systems. • Confirm pass or fail status, release product or determine and advise corrective action; inform Laboratory Supervisor / QA Manager as appropriate. • Maintain all laboratory documentation up to date and available for inspection. • Create and complete records of non-conforming product on quality management software. • Generate Certificates of Analysis/Conformities. • Sending external samples for analysis • Carry out cook-up assessment of finished product • Carry out pest checks and housekeeping checks • Support the Quality Assurance Manager and in their absence or as required, be responsible for: attending morning meetings, responding to customer queries, completing internal audits and testing requirements as required via the technical schedule, Identifying and being consulted about any issues that may arise. • Maintain equipment and working areas clean, tidy and available for use at all times. • Record all glass and hard plastic breakages. • Carry out any reasonable request as requested by any member of management within the reasonable scope of the role. Candidate requirements: • Good verbal and written communication skills • Good level of numeracy skills • Able to work within a team • Demonstrate ability to work under pressure • Responsible with a self motivated and proactive attitude • Must have good organisational skills • Demonstrate an awareness of health and safety • Computer skills • Experience of working within a laboratory/QA role is desirable The working hours for this role is 40 hours per week working 6am-2pm and 2pm - 10pm shifts.
