We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and agile HR leader who will be accountable for the leadership and collaboration of the HR community across the UK & Ireland ensuring Country fiduciary compliance.
Key to success will be the leadership partnering and collaboration of our Corporate functions and shared services to develop and implement the people strategy through the execution of HR processes, ensuring effective, proactive and sustainable workplace relations both internally and externally.
Representing and developing the ABB brand to ensure we continue to contribute and promote social progress will be a key responsibility as part of our ambition to attract, develop and retain the best talent for today and tomorrow.
Your responsibilities
- Monitors compliance with legislation, HR policies, and other compliance standards in all areas of responsibility and shares country best practices across the business.
- Ensures all HR-related fiduciary responsibilities are met in the country, including reporting, legal structure, internal and external auditing, etc.
- Identifies and mitigates internal risk by assuring full compliance with all applicable ABB and legal regulations, including Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and integrity.
- Provides leadership and guidance to ensure the team (under scope) is properly organized, staffed, skilled, and directed.
- Coaches, motivates, and develops talent to build an effective, capable, and high-performing team.
- Represents HR in business and establishes strong relationships with all business leaders and employees.
- Collaborate with global HR teams to align on best practices and ensure consistency.
- Takes accountability for the leadership and collaboration of the HR community and the overall HR contribution and value-add to the business, in partnership with the Functions and Shared Services across the country.
- Monitors the execution of common Business HR priorities and thus adds value to the business.
- Ensures the smooth execution of overall business & people strategy.
- Ensures the execution of relevant HR strategies, policies, procedures, tools, and thought leadership including, but not limited to, culture, talent acquisition, succession planning, workforce planning, organization design, Diversity and Inclusion (D&I), Learning and Development (L&D), people performance, Compensation and Benefits (C&B), and global mobility.
- Drives behavioral change and continuous improvement.
- Monitors the implementation & success of change management initiatives across the areas of responsibility.
- Manages overall employee relations strategy & works council relationships for the Country in order to address concerns and promote a positive workplace culture.
- Foster a strong employer brand through effective communication and employer branding initiatives.
- Accountable for total HR offering to business leveraging functional expertise.
- Supports the business and the execution of HR processes including all sub-functions for the given country.
Your background
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- CIPD qualified with evidence of continuous professional development.
- Held previous position of leadership, able to establish credibility and build function accountability.
- Able to problem solve and demonstrate operational and strategic skills.
- Change management expertise.
- Experience of coaching is essential and leading teams in a matrix structure.
- Demonstrates commercial acumen – partners with the business/functions to deliver commercially focused people strategies and has a good overall understanding of company finances and uses this to develop policies.
- Solid employment law knowledge and proven experience of applying updated legislation to a variety of HR situations, policy & practice including M&A activities.
- Managed redundancy situations and experienced in coaching managers through this and leading where necessary.
- Evidence of having a passion for working with people and working beyond the confines of the job description.
- Outstanding communication skills as well as ability to influence senior leaders & board members.
- Proven organization skills and ability to prioritize.
- Thrives on continuous improvement & evolution with experience of operating in a decentralized Business led Organization model.
