Our client based in Wokingham is a leader in the energy and construction sector and are passionate about energy efficiency and protecting the environment. They are experiencing a lot of growth nationally and are looking for someone who can hit the ground running within this newly created position. The perfect candidate will be motivated, have high energy, with a proven history of building strong relationships within departments and across all stakeholders. The perfect candidate will also have the natural ability to own commercial relationships and be experienced in business development within any sector.

They are looking for a candidate that can build the pipeline of opportunities with new and existing clients, maintain projects and bring in extra revenue to the business.

The role reports into the Commercial Director and works closely with the Partnerships Manager. It is predominately office based but there will be a requirement to travel to meetings to develop key relationships.

What will the Commercial Manager be doing?

• Project acquisition
• Conduct thorough market research to understand the industry landscape, potential opportunities, and competitor activities.
• Identify and pursue opportunities to secure funded projects
• Develop compelling proposals and tender responses.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key associations.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their needs and concerns throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop and implement a robust commercial strategy to achieve revenue and margin targets across the group and drive value creation.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements, ensuring favourable terms and conditions for the organisation and relevant network members where associated.
• Assess financial viability, risks, and return on investment for potential projects.
• Work closely with internal teams to align commercial strategies with operational capabilities.
• Provide insights and feedback to internal teams based on market intelligence and client feedback.
