Position: Learning Support Assistant

Start date: January 8th 2024

Salary: Starting at £380 per week

Location: Barry

Academics are currently recruiting for a dedicated, passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team! We specialise in connecting educators with rewarding opportunities within primary schools across Barry and the rest of the Vale of Glamorgan.

As an agency, our goal is to assist you in finding long-term and permanent roles within schools. We act as a stepping stone in allowing you to gain valuable experience before fully committing to a long-term role!

Responsibilities as a Learning Support Assistant:

* Providing tailored support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring inclusion and engagement
* Collaborate with teaching staff to implement effective learning strategies and support plans.
* Assist with the development and adaptation of educational materials and resources.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for students to thrive.
* Implement behaviour management strategies to create a supportive atmosphere.
* Maintain open communication with teachers, parents and other professionals regarding student progress.

The ideal candidate will:

* Have previous experience working with children or in a school setting
* Hold or be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS
* Registered with the EWC (or be willing to)
* A passion for supporting children in their academic development
* Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant is highly desriable
* Be local to or able to commute to Barry
