Are you ready to make an impact in the dynamic world of fresh prepared foods? As a Packaging Technologist you will become an essential part of the product development process. The company is a prominent player in the industry, delivering innovative food solutions to top grocery retailers in the UK, US, and China. As a Packaging Technologist, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the success of the product development initiatives. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, your role will be pivotal in delivering packaging specifications, costings, and trials that meet the needs of their stakeholders and uphold their commitment to excellence.
Your key responsibilities will include coordinating the selection and approval of outer cases for both new and existing product development projects. You will finalise all packaging elements, including trays, sleeves, films, and outer cases, ensuring they meet their rigorous quality standards and functional requirements. In the artwork approval process, you will meticulously verify packaging details such as cutter guide size, dimensions, panel layout, date code box placement, barcode positioning, and varnish-free areas.
Additionally, you will oversee the generation and approval of promotional artwork and create internal packaging specifications for customer requirements and factory documentation. During product trials and pre-productions, you will support process teams by coordinating packaging orders and logistics. Your role will also involve attending retailer pre-artwork meetings to discuss packaging specifications for upcoming product launches.
As a guardian of quality, you will manage the approval process for the first delivery of printed packaging, ensuring that overall print quality meets the exacting standards before release to factories. You will maintain and update the packaging database to ensure accuracy and accessibility of packaging details and collaborate with procurement teams to align with the business strategy regarding packaging suppliers.
To excel in this role, you will need effective time management skills, strong organisational abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
