Job Detail
In this busy and exciting role, you will function as a key member of the UK FP&A team
- providing insight and analysis across various stakeholders and supporting our Senior Finance Controller, by providing clear robust data for UK & Group overheads, using various systems and reporting tools.
Supporting with standardisation of reporting to drive consistency and efficiency across the Group whilst delivering visibility of information
- to give clarity on operating costs and saving opportunities, will be key.
As will, delivering a suite of efficiency tools for overheads analysis and working closely with key stakeholders to ensure proposed structures are fit for purpose for central reporting requirements.
Accountabilities
Performance Reporting & Business Partnering
- Managing the daily and weekly tracker processes, ensuring that they are consolidated and circulated to management according to prescribed timetables
- Ensuring month end adjustments are processed
- Maintaining the tracker files, including developing new reports as required
- Supporting with UK & Group ABC business partnering
- Understand trends and variances, collaborating with managers to build improvement plans and scorecards
- Generating a standard reporting suite for overheads
- Working with laboratory team to understand cost drivers (Variable, semi variable & fixed)
- Building costing model for test prices that allocate cost in particular labour based on activity
- Supporting in delivery suite of reports that help deliver the goal of all testing completed in house (Bakkavor USP)
Rolling Forecast
- Supporting generation of the rolling forecast for UK & Group overheads working with managers to understands trends, cost drivers
- Co-ordinating the UK element of the Rolling Forecasts, including the pre-submission process, and supporting UK, Sector and Business teams with management reports
- Supporting in building model delivering a Latest View rolling forecast updated in Cognos on monthly basis to give annual visibility more frequently
- Building and maintaining robust model for headcount reporting and actual vs forecast
Operational Finance Insights
- Overhead Benchmarking – provide insight and analysis to sites using standardised chart of accounts data sets
Control Environment
- Managing the FP&A element of the customer set up, including periodic credit review of all customers, and co-ordinating the credit check, set-up and reporting of new customers
- Managing the approval of new overhead or cost centre codes, and their mapping within the Cognos uploads
Business Reporting
- Managing the UK capital reporting process, generating management reports and undertaking investigations as required
- Maintaining the Cognos extract files, including developing new reports as required
- Working with Group Finance to remove duplication and delivering reporting that supports decision making for Senior managers
- Support the function lead with evolution of team
Systems Development
- Support by developing reporting and system that fit alongside the ERP and data reporting design requirements where relevant to areas that relate to the scope of UK FP&A and overhead accounting
- Working cross functionally with other stakeholders to ensure the accounting for group logistics is consistent across all Distribution centres
- Support Central Finance in championing the use of Cognos, or other Group reporting tools
People Management
- Managing a business insights team
- Ensuring team has the right tools and resources to ensure effective delivery
- Promoting skills development across FP&A allowing for career advancement and employee engagement which delivers high performance
Projects & Ad hoc
- Providing UK wide reporting services, including Soya Reporting (Technical), Waste Reporting validation (ESG) and other ad-hoc reports as required
- Supporting projects as required, examples of which range from supporting centralisation projects and IS transformation projects
About you
Ideally, you will have previous experience within a similar role and a Professional Accountancy Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
You will be an excellent communicator, with strong relationship building and team management skills and the ability to work comfortably with multiple priorities across multiple stakeholders to make contingency plans to account for changing work priorities, deadlines, and milestones.
Comprehensive MS Office skills and the capability to operate in a fast paced and demanding environment will be key.
