Job description

Professional leadership provision of professional leadership, communicating and supporting the delivery of the service vision for high quality practice for the 0-19 service within Lincolnshire. Practice and service development - to maintain a clinical role contributing to the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme ensuring high quality evidence based practice is embedded across Children's Health. The post holder will be responsible for working collaboratively with other clinical/professional leads as part of benchmarking and quality assurance of clinical practice. Education, Teaching and Research to make significant and continued contributions to the development of training, education and competency assessments for all staff. This will involve the development of competency matrices, professional portfolios, peer review tool frameworks and practitioner performance action plans in order to ensure all work undertaken by all staff is appropriate for their role and level of knowledge, experience, skill and competency. Clinical practice - functioning at an expert level of theoretical and clinical practice. Will have a significant breadth of knowledge and skills in areas specific to the 0-19 agenda, To Supports and inspire colleagues and specialist practice students in developing skills advanced and competent professional practice To act as a clinical expert e demonstrating expert knowledge and skills including the uilisation of up to date evidence based practice. To practice within the legal and clinical framework, set out by the NMC code of professional conduct and other relevant legislation. Coordinate and manage the placement and allocation of all students. Developing and supporting mentors and long arm mentors, providing the link between university and practice. Ensure placement audits are completed and compliant with university standards, collated within a universal database. The post holder will be required to sign off specialist practice programme students leading to a recordable qualification. Co-ordinates and designs/ develops training programmes for specialist practice students. Contribute to induction programmes for new employees. To act as a health educator to health colleagues and other agencies. To act as a preceptor and/or mentor Team Lead Health Visitor Senior Children & Young People's Nurse Community Practice Educator Student Health Visitor Children's Health Locality Manager Lead Nurse Children's Health as required. Assess and award marks in accordance with the academic marking criteria to record the specialist practice students progress. Assess the students specialist skills and application of knowledge to practice through observation of critical analysis, questioning of rationale and scrutiny of the evidence collated by the student. Work in partnership with the university to ensure that the education requirements are met for the specialist practice degree course Utilise specialist clinical skills using evidence based practice to identify any risks and needs in protecting children in accordance with agreed safeguarding policies and procedure and identify children in need and children in need of protection and work in partnership with all partner agencies to support families and protect children Specialist Lead Role for the service to have a lead role in supporting the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme. This includes quality and performance full knowledge and awareness of the key performance indicators in order to support staff in the achievement of these outcomes by reviewing knowledge skills and professional practice. This will involve participation in Initial Fact Finds and Root Cause Analysis as required. Clinical Supervision to contribute to clinical supervision, restorative supervision ensuring compliance and quality for all staff within the 0-19 teams Training and development to support the delivery of annual training schedules for all staff, in line with the workforce training needs analysis send collaborate with practice supervisors and other clinical leads to deliver learning and development forums to ensure clinicians remain up to date with evidence based practice and support staff to prepare for revalidation. To lead on the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of child health promotion programmes in order to promote health and wellbeing and prevent adverse effects. Ensure the voice of the child is incorporated into all aspects of Health visiting. To attend all relevant university updates. Work with the Practice supervisors to To ensure that at all registered staff are compliant with the mentor updates and triennial reviews, To support staff in maintaining accurate contemporaneous and comprehensive records in accordance with LCC guidelines and NMC standards using a signs of safety approach. To maintain own clinical/ safeguarding supervision Develops and takes a lead role in developing appropriate clinical audit tools and makes recommendations based on findings.
